Proctored Practice Tests in Northridge

Proctored Practice Tests in Northridge

A lot of students do their SAT or ACT practice at home, at their own desk, with the ability to pause and take breaks whenever they want. Then test day arrives — a strange room, a strict timer, other students around them — and the score comes back lower than expected. This happens more than most families realize. Proctored practice tests in Northridge give students a chance to experience real test conditions before it counts.

How Our Proctored Sessions Work

At Launch Valley Tutoring, we use official SAT and ACT materials from the College Board and ACT, Inc. A proctor manages the clock, calls time on each section, and runs the breaks exactly as they happen on the real test. Students get no extra time and no do-overs. The goal is to make it feel as close to the actual test as possible.

After the session, our team scores the test and goes through the results with the student. We look at performance by section and by question type. We note where the student ran out of time, where careless mistakes happened, and where knowledge gaps showed up. Families leave with a clear picture of where their student stands — not a guess, but real data. Students across the San Fernando Valley have used these sessions to set a starting baseline, check progress mid-prep, or do a final run-through before test day.

When to Take a Practice Test and What to Do With the Results

The best time for a first proctored test is early — before a student has done much prep. That score tells you where to focus time and energy. A second test midway through shows whether the work is paying off. A third test close to the real date builds confidence and flags anything still needing attention. The score alone is not the point. What matters is what you learn from it and what you do next.
